Description

This is a manipulation based off of the linked source image. I experimented with several techniques to achieve the various things going on in the picture. It was created in a combination of graphics programs, including PS. About 8 hours work...

Good idea!

Yet the fire on the road doesn't look real. its base doesn't blend in with the road correctly.
Also the lighting on the biker's helmet is too harsh and one can guess the light source is very close and strong, which isn't the case in your photo manip.

One more thing - look at the biker's bicycle frame. it looks like the bike is coming from a different angle than the volcano.

Would you mind criticizing my work in a similar manner? That way we can all progress :) Thanks!

That is supposed to be lava bursting up through the road actually, but I do think you make good points on the rest, especially the lighting. The bike angle I left as is since he could be riding from about any angle on the road in the chaos. Thank you very much.

I can't think of a more difficult concept to pull off in any media........action is something I definitely stay away from in photomanipulation. Love the kinetic effects of the volano and it's spewage.
